As we were charged with seeing to Ms. Trudy’s care, it was always her wish to remain in her home and be cared for with dignity as long as possible. We contacted Hazel and she put a team together to cover 24/7 care Ms. Trudy would need. Angelic care entered into Trudy’s life at a time when her body, spirit, emotions and will to live were challenged. Early dementia was taking control of her mind. Her frail aging body, at age 93, was confined to her bed with limited interaction with others. Trudy had just lost her only son and was overwhelmed with grief and depression. Trudy’s physical care and comfort – cleanliness, meals, hygiene and medications – were always attended to.

But more than that, the angelic care staff always treated Trudy as a person. Each staff member had her own individual way of relating to Trudy. They all understood her needs and circumstances, taking an interest in her. They related to her on a personal level and provided activities and mental stimulation to spark and maintain Trudy’s improved existence and quality of life. Trudy was always at ease and comfortable with the caregivers in her home. Her condition improved greatly. The staff had her out of bed daily and eating at her table, looking at the window, sitting on her front porch, listening to music or a staff member read to her. Angelic Care also coordinated with outside medical providers (doctors, dentists, therapists) for in-house visits and worked with hospice care during the final weeks of her life.

Let me start off explaining that Mr. James is receiving care and assistance under Veteran Affairs through Angelic Care Plus. He receives much needed care each morning for 2 hours 5 days a week. The care he receives is very crucial and much needed because he is a fairly large in stature man (71 YOA) that is in a wheelchair and also needs assistance with going to the bathroom after two spine surgeries.

Hazel Bailey, President of Angelic Care Plus and an on-hands Home Healthcare provider herself, has been working with Mr. James personally for quite some time now. Hazel has provided the consistency Mr. James requires mainly because he poses challenges with change also due to his current mental status. Mr. James displays a lack of self-confidence in performing daily duties at times that we may take for granted such as brushing your teeth, putting deodorant on, and washing your on face to name a few. She is very patient with Mr. James and instills the much needed self-confidence needed which is important to Mr. James because it checks the mental box of self-accomplishment.

Moreover, Hazel Bailey and the overall Angelic Care Plus has become a permanent fixture in Mr. James’ household. Ms. Noreen , wife of James, has a trust for Hazel based on the friendship they have developed, her punctuality, professionalism, and dedication to not only providing care for Mr. James, but making him an overall stronger.
